Ceramics Care Guide and Maintenance
Ceramic is a durable yet fragile material and should be handled with care. Avoid dropping or knocking pieces against hard surfaces and take care when placing them on delicate surfaces.
Clean by hand using warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge. To avoid colour transfer, use a white cloth on white or light-coloured ceramics and a dark cloth on darker ceramics. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scourers and harsh chemicals, which may scratch, mark or dull the surface.
Glazed ceramic
Glazed surfaces can be gently wiped or hand washed as required. Some variation, fine surface markings and changes in appearance may occur over time and are characteristic of the material and glaze.
3D printed ceramic
The layered texture created through the 3D printing process is an intentional part of each piece. Handle with care and clean gently with a soft cloth or sponge, taking particular care around fine edges and textured areas. Do not use abrasive brushes or scourers.
Matte or textured ceramic
Matte and textured surfaces may show oils, fingerprints and marks more readily than gloss-glazed surfaces. Clean gently with warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scourers and vigorous rubbing, which may alter or mark the surface.
